Frozen in the middle of nowhere

The ancient graves (burial moulds)  in our backyard eventually found a new and much more exciting purpose :-)

Architect causes disaster

During the design process (spring 2013) Pieter Brink from B+O architecten in Meppel hands over our project to his colleague Johan Nieuwenhuis to do research and further excecution.

Unfortunately Johan Nieuwenhuis is very insecure and unexperienced. After a short while Johan fails to complete even the simplest requests and makes too many mistakes.

We suggest - to take him off the case or find another consulting architecht for our house and it is decided that Pieter Brink should take lead again.

Unfortunately - we asked Johan Nieuwenhuis to do research for a suitable hardened sauna window - a fatal mistake - only to be discovered more than a year later when the sauna windows all start to burst.

At that point Johan has been expelled from the project and lateron fired by Pieter Brink.

Unfortunately we met more incompatible  workers with a lack of professional qualities by B+O in Meppel.

Bursting sauna window

Every contemporary sauna has a window nowadays!

EXAMPLES:

Reference: Ringkøbing Svømmehal

We spend time and effort explaining this thoroughly and in details to the architect while designing our house.

Now we have a burst in the window and a big problem!-(

The drawing shows extra isolation on the walls but certainly not towards the windows!!

Leaking Concrete Floor

Day of disaster when everything is set-out wrong!
The styrofoam is in direct contact with the ground. No sealing-foil or epdm on the outside of the foundation!
Tubes
Day of gray
No foil or plastic layer inbetween
Is this strip the only protection against water?
What went wrong?

Disasters rolling in!

To build and give form (birth) to a new house is absolutely amazing in the first place but... at a certain point, with almost no energy and resources left, reality does catch up and forces us to look behind the romantic gaze!

All the problems that starts piling up after the builders left the scene, all the mistakes made and various troubles left behind - suddenly makes you bitter when  - all on our own - looking back at all the bills you paid!

At the end of a massive project like this - we are clearly the victim of negligence and unprofessional workmanship.

To be solved soon:
Cellar Leaking: the cellar was damaged on its way here due to a crash under a nearby bridge. The responsible building constructor still had it placed in our house!

Saunawindows starts to burst: B+O architect, Johan Nieuwenhuis had forgotten our request for a special kind of window glass in the sauna. The glass should be safe and heat resistant!

Water coming up - through the concrete floor: the sealing and completion of the concrete foundation on the northside of the house is changed by the responsible building constructor Roelof Tippe and approved by the architect Pieter Brink B+O.

Pomp for sewerage-system brakes down: seems that the company Brink Vos who lay-out and constructed our wicker-field 'forgot' to assemble the pomp! We wonderd why we had continuous electric short-circuits when wastewater started to flow back in the house!

Boktor was found in some interior wood:
at the end if the track de builders were finishing off some details and decided to use some waste wood to imitate a beam.  Lateron a pile of sawdust turned up on the kitchen counter! The beam was detached and were to treat the pesticides ourselves with strong chemicals!
